Ray Furney was a longtime teacher and coach at Lawrenceburg High School. He also served as an athletic trainer for Tigers sports teams. Furney was a staple at most athletic events at LHS for many years. He had retired from teaching in 2014 after 36 years with Lawrenceburg Community Schools.
