Rachael competed in swimming her freshman and sophomore years, golf her junior and senior years, cross country her senior year, basketball all four years, as well as track all four years. She lettered in all 13 seasons she competed in.

In basketball, she was All-Conference, All-Sectional, and 2nd team All-County her sophomore year. As a junior, she was All-Conference, All-Sectional, and 2nd team All-County, as well as led the team in rebounding, and led the EIAC Conference in free throw percentage. As a senior, she was selected to the All-Sectional Team, All-County Team, and All-Conference, and won Co-MVP in All-County and All-Conference. She led her team in scoring with 16 points per game, set the school record for three-pointers in a game (6) and in a season (22), was the team MVP, won the Lady Tiger Award for hustle and determination, and won the IHSAA/Farm Bureau 3Pt. Shootout Title for the sectional to qualify to participate in the state finals at Market Square Arena. She was chosen to play in the 40 & 8 All-Star game, Cincinnati Skyline Athlete of the Month for February, and Academic All-State honorable mention. In swimming, she was a member of the record-setting 200-meter relay team in 1994, a Mental Attitude Award winner in 1994, and a member of the record-setting 400-meter freestyle team in 1995. In her one year of cross country, she was Most Valuable Runner in 1997. In 1996, Rachael was named a top 100 Athlete in the tri-state area. She won the Scholar/Athlete Award for Superior Athletic and Academic Achievement, the John Creech Memorial Award for top female senior letter winner, and the Super Klutz award, which was given by long-time athletic Trainer Ray Furney for being injury-prone.

After high school, Rachael received a Bachelor’s degree from Hanover College while playing basketball there from 1999-2002. She was a team captain in her senior year. She has an MBA in Marketing from Miami University, a Masters of Education in Administration and Supervision from Ball State University, and received her teaching License from Indiana Wesleyan University. She was also a girl's basketball coach at Madison Shawe Memorial from 2008-2012.

She is married to former LHS and Hanover Football player and coach Steve Baudendstiel and has two boys, Logan and Dylan. They reside in Dumfries, Virginia. She and Steve teach at Colgan High School in Manassas, Virginia.
